I had my ergonomic assessment yesterday with Lyn from ErgoLynx. Just wanted to send you a quick note to let you know how fantastic I thought it was.

I had an ergonomic assessment once before when I worked for a different organization. It consisted of a small adjustment to my desk chair, the addition of a foot rest and was over in about 10 minutes. I was less than impressed and didn't have very high hopes for any future assessments.

Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised with Lyn's visit yesterday. Not only did she make some much needed adjustments to my work station, but she also gave me a lot of really useful information that will ensure that I don't inadvertently do anything that could potentially make my injury worse. She was incredibly knowledgeable and very thorough. Although she will be returning in the near future to make all necessary adjustments, I already feel an improvement from the few adjustments she was able to make yesterday.

Thanks again for helping to coordinate this assessment so quickly - it was well worth it!

I had newly joined the organization and realized that there were some ergonomic issues. I contacted ErgoLynx who developed a program including lunch and learn sessions, individual assessments followed by recommendations for each staff member. The program was highly successful with every staff member who responded to the evaluation indicating that the training met his or her expectations. Moreover, 96% of respondents rated the sessions and evaluations as good or excellent in all categories.

As initiatives go, I cant think of one that gave more bang for the buck.

The Sport and Recreation Branch of the Ministry of Health Promotion moved locations in the summer of 2006. One of the most effective and positive experiences that came out of this was our introduction to Lyn and her team from ErgoLynx Consulting.

Lyn's approach of having staff evaluate three different chairs and explaining to them how to fit a chair long before we moved and then following up with an on site individual fitting was excellent. The chair evaluation helped staff understand how a chair works and that the adjustments can make them much more comfortable. But more importantly, it made the staff feel special, unique and valued.

ErgoLynx staff were very skilled in dealing with each and every person. Lyn's bright smile, love of her work and true belief in ergonomics came through each and everytime she visited a staff workstation. She managed to make even the biggest curmudgeon smile and become a fan of their new chair!

Both our union reps to the Joint Health and Safety Committee sited the work done by ErgoLynx as a best practice.

I would certainly use Lyn and ErgoLynx again. In fact, I would not do a move without bringing her in to reveiw chairs and workstations. I have already recommended her services to two other branches in the Governement.
